Soul Sisters

Transfers happened. I stayed. We cover 7 wards. I got a new comp SISTER WEED. Wow. I've always wondered what it would be like to have a companion who is just like me. Well let me tell you... it's the best thing ever. Sis. Weed is 6 feet tall, works out with me in the mornings, loves sports, is willing to do and try new things, is so good at staying in the moment, loves to laugh, never gets tired of talking about the gospel, knows how important it is to pray like it's up to God and THEN work like it's up to you, and reminds me so much of my cousin Bethany. (and I LOVE AND MISS MY COUSIN BETHANY) Our days have been one constant working grind and God has been so good to us and has been pouring revelation for us and our area down upon us. I know that we are going to see more success than ever because of the way we are working the cycle to LET IT RAIN. I wish I had time to expound and tell you all more about what that means, but that is something that might just have to wait...

Alma 7:7

I wanted to take you all into my head and my heart for a minute as I walk you through a particular personal study and experience I had this week. It started at 9am on my knees where I specifically asked Heavenly Father what we needed to teach Demi in her lesson that night. (Demi is the sweetest Japanese lady that we have been teaching who speaks almost no English and had never once heard about God or Jesus before we met her. How we met her is a miracle story in itself. We have taught her all of the lessons and she keeps all her commitments and lives her life according to every commandment... but she is terrified of baptism and often gets scared when she sees pictures of Christ.) I couldn't understand why after every act of Faith she has put forth she still feels fear when she sees a picture of Christ or thinks about following Him. I was confused and a little frustrated, so I turned to my scriptures. Somewhere in my reading in the Bible I heard a voice in my heart. That is the only ...

Daily Manna

I am so amazed at the way God gives us Daily Mana. The Bible shares the story of the Israelites who when traveling without food would wake up every morning to find mana covering the ground for them to collect and eat. There was always just enough to get them through that day. And they couldn't save it for the next day or else it would go bad. But through their faith and trust, every morning when they woke again there was enough mana covering the ground to feed them for another day. I have found over the last few weeks that God does that with us too. Just when we think we have exhausted all of our efforts or texted every person in our area book, He sends a referral, or the final member message of the night has a friend they want us to teach, or we get some wild creative idea to work better with the youth. I am so grateful that He takes our insufficient efforts and magnifies them. Easter Sunday yesterday was the most special Sunday I have had yet. Focusing on the Savior and His s...

And miles to go before I sleep

"The Lord has prepared and raised up a Faithful people who choose to do hard things well." - Henry B. Eyring WHATTA WEEK. Up at 6:30. Pray. Exercise (insanity is kicking my butt). Eat. Put a dress on. Plan. Study. Video call ×4. Eat. Play some piano to chill my mind. Study. Video call some more. Go outside. More video calls. Drop Books of Mormon off at people's doors. Eat dinner on the sidewalk outside the church. Video call ×6. Drive home listening to tab choir turned way up windows down. Write in my journal. Pray my heart out. Sleep. REPEAT! This is our life. It is more fast paced than ever, yet I spend most of my time sitting on one of those metal church chairs. I'm grateful that President Eyring pointed out that the Lord has prepared us to CHOOSE to do hard things well. Because this new lifestyle of missionary work is dang hard for me. But I refuse to do anything less than choose to do it well. General Conference was the best, we all knew it would be. I would l...
